HOW TO CHOOSE A SURGEON?

The Peruvian Medical College recommends the following when choosing a surgeon:

Make sure the doctor you choose has an up-to-date collegiate membership card with the appropriate NēC.M.P. registration number. You can check this by logging on to the website: http://www.cmp.org.pe/conoce.asp. , Dr. Morillas' number is Nē C.M.P. 08195.
In addition to a registration number, the specialist should also have a National Specialist Registration number, in this case in the Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery specialty. Dr. Morillas' number is R.N.E 2995.
Although it is not an indispensable requisite, the surgeon ought to belong to a prestigious association in his/her specialization.
Dr. Morillas belongs to: http://www.sociprep.org/miembros.htm and http://www.academiaperuanadecirugia.org, among others.
INFORMED CONSENT

For plastic surgery operations, the patient should receive certain information from the surgeon to ensure informed consent. This includes: physical condition according to clinical analysis; electrocardiogram and surgery risk indicated beforehand, type of anaesthesia, surgery technique, assisting medical team, facilities that the patient will have at the surgery and/or hospital ward where he/she will be interned, security protocol and of course the total cost, specifying that pre-operation, operation and post-operation phases must be fully covered.
COSMETIC SURGERY SUGGESTIONS

Stop smoking before and after the operation. The relationship between tobacco and trauma around the treated area is unequivocal. The effect of tobacco does not disappear immediately after having stopped smoking, and it delays the scarring process.

In case of heavy smoking, we recommend hyperbaric sessions before and after the surgery given it improves the scarring process.

Women should suspend any hormonal treatment ten to fourteen days before surgery since it makes you prone to bleeding.

The effects of the aspirin on bleeding during and immediately after surgery are well-known so aspirin intake must seize preferably ten days before surgery.
RECOMMENDATIONS

RHYTIDOPLASTY: Use factor 40 sunscreen lotion (or more) every six hours during the two following months after the surgery. This will avoid any undesirable reaction to UV rays regardless of your being indoors or outdoors.

ABDOMINOPLASTY: Do not drive vehicles during a month after surgery.

ENLARGEMENT OR REDUCTION MAMMAPLASTY:Do not use a brassiere with beards for two months, since it interrupts lymphatic drainage .

LIPOSCULPTURE: Lymphatic drainage and ultrasound will aid you in the healing of the treated zone.
